Junior Laniyan is an accomplished actor/dancer having appeared on stage as a featured tapper in New York on Tap and Cross Currents Turned on Tap at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Robbie Williams Live at the Royal Albert Hall, Feet Fusion Tap Concert in Finland’s Gloria Theatre, Finding Synaesthesia for the London Jazz Festival & later for the Salzberg Jazz Festival, Los Sones Negros for Suma Flamenca in Madrid, Riverdance in Germany, China, Korea and the UK and can be seen on the Riverdance Live From Beijing DVD.
Junior Laniyan also played the title role in the touring show Master Juba, Pete Spivy in Blues for Mr Charlie for the Tricycle Theatre, Kamel in D’you Know What I Mean and Him in Fifteen Minutes Before, both at Nottingham’s Lakeside Arts Centre.
Junior has taught numerous workshops in Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Italy. He has worked as a tap choreographer for Sky 1’s Louis Spence’s Show Business and is also a faculty member of Pineapple Studios London.
In his efforts to share his love of the dance with others, he co-founded
and hosts London Tap Jam, a monthly opportunity for tap dancers to jam with
each other supported by fantastic live musicians at London’s Ronnie Scott’ Jazz
club.
